A very specific and particularly challenging assignment. The ship, which is being used to catch cockles in the traditional way, has some important requirements. For instance the load conditions and the hull design with a draft of only 30 centimeters. No less important was the internal cooling system, that has to keep the engines running when the ship is beached in shallow water conditions.
Due to the light weight of the boat, the boat is afloat much earlier than the usual heavy steel ships and can bring the heavy cargo back to the marina. A large cargo hold in the boat can store 20 tons of cockles in the water, so the cockles can stay of better quality. A heavy crane makes it possible to unload the ship in the harbor on its own.
